BRIEF HISTORY:

  •  Located in: Kristiansand and Grimstad, Norway

  • Number of students: Approximately 14,000

  • Student-faculty ratio: Approximately 14:1

  • Founded in 1994 as a university college through the merger of several regional colleges in southern Norway, but the history dates back to the year 1771

  • Granted full university status in 2007, marking its evolution into a modern institution of higher education

  • The roots of higher education in the Agder region stretch back to 1839 with the establishment of the first teacher training college at Holt, which laid the foundation for a longstanding tradition in academic excellence

DEGREE PROGRAMMES

MASTER’S DEGREE PROGRAMMES AND COURSES IN ENGLISH:

  •  University of Agder offers a wide range of master’s programmes taught in English, including Engineering and Science, Humanities and Education, Health and Sport Sciences, Social Sciences, Fine Arts, and Business and Law

  • In addition, you can choose between specialised or interdisciplinary programmes designed either to broaden your previous education or to enable a smooth transition into a new field of study

  • A range of events is organised throughout the year for international and local students, such as language cafés, orientation programmes, international dinners, cultural excursions, and exhibitions
