BRIEF HISTORY:

  • Private Jesuit university

  • Established in 1891 by Adrian Sweere as he took over a small parish school

  • After 11 years Seattle College granted its first bachelor's degrees

  • In 1948 Seattle College renamed itself adapting its current name Seattle University
